Berner is Making Edibles — Get Ready for Cookies by Cookies

Yup, Cookies by Cookies  are actually a thing. What a time to be alive. Cookies has been called the biggest brand in weed. Nugs from the famous San Francisco dispensary are just a small (but of course vital) element in the Cookies empire. You can buy Cookies brand rolling trays, rolling boxes, mini vacuum sealers, Cookies Hemp20 infused water, Cookies ashtrays, Cookies backpacks, and, of course, mountains of Cookies clothing, from hoodies to baseball jerseys.  So it makes sense that the Cookies brand would release actual… cookies. For the past few months, Cookies has been dropping tantalizing hints about the upcoming release of their line of cannabis-infused edibles. So do Berner’s edibles live up to the hype? Here at Have a Heart, we’ve assembled a board of estimable experts in the field of cannabis edibles. This crew has sampled every snack on the market — from Willie’s Reserve almond chocolates to Magic Kitchen’s sweet and sour cherry Marmas. Hey, someone’s got to do it! Needless to say, we don’t carry a brand unless it passes muster. So short answer? Yes, Cookies by Cookies are awesome! Let’s start with the packaging. As usual, Cookies hits the mark with the branding. The cool blue-and-white boxes are neatly-designed and appealingly simple. Inside, the cookies are individually wrapped. When opened, they give off a fresh, promising aroma. The chewy starmel doodle is obviously made by stoners for stoners. Sticky, sweet, delectable, with a dash of cinnamon and just an alluring hint of cannabis flavor. Our team of experts chowed through a box in no time and seemed hungry for more. And the high? A solid...
Getting High in July with Friends

Getting High in July with Friends

Good news! On July 23rd cannabis consumers in Washington State will legally be allowed to share cannabis products with each other! It is kind of weird to think that the law had to be changed to let someone pass a doobie to a friend, even when weed was already legalized, but here we are. The government still hasn’t legalized all possession of cannabis, so while passing a joint to your partner will be considered legal, giving them a pound of weed will still be illegal. Even if it’s for free. So, what does this break down to as far as legal purchasing limits of different cannabis products go? Flower – 1 ounce Blue Dream from Clandestine $15 per gram Narnia from Soulshine $12 per gram Strawberry Switchblade $160 per half ounce Edibles – 16 ounces Cannabees CBD Honey 100mg from Swift $35 Indica Brownie from Spot $10 Oatmeal Cranberry Cookie from Goodship $8 Concentrates – 7 grams 9lb Hammer Honey Crystal Wax from Oleum $30 per half gram CBD 1:1 Cartridge from Fairwinds $40 per half gram Sour Tangie from Happy Cat $40 per half gram Liquids – 72 ounces Rainier Cherry Liquid Joy 10mg Tonic from Legal Beverages for $6 Strawberry Lemonade THC/CBD 60mg from Cannabis Quencher $25 Toca Cola 60mg from Loaded Soda $21   These numbers also coincide with the legal limit for purchases at all of our locations as well. While it will still be illegal to pass the bong on July 4th this year, it will be legal to pass your parents an edible on July 23rd, which is Parents Day in the US. So,...

Pot Questions: To Grind or Not to Grind Your Weed?

Pot Questions: To Grind or Not to Grind Your Weed?

Whether to grind or not to grind your weed is a pretty hot topic at our Have a Heart recreational marijuana shop in Bothell. One thing we all agree on, is that it depends on the particular strain of weed we’re smoking. Our budtenders can help you find the best weed for your lifestyle – and can advise on grinding, or not grinding, each of the amazing northwest strains of cannabis that we sell. Grind your weed: When the buds are super moist and sticky, and you’ll wind up with more weed on your fingers than in the bowl if you break it up by hand. When you’re rolling joints, and you want an evenly distributed balance of cannabis throughout so they burn easier. No lumpy blunts! When you’re packing a bowl, ground weed will burn more consistently because there’s more surface area – instead of burning just one side of a nug. The extra oxygen moving through the ground weed helps it burn a bit hotter, which will give you a stronger hit. When you like the THC crystals from your cannabis bud, also known as “keef.” Most grinders have a keefbox, and after a few rounds of grinding you’ll have a nice stash of keef to add to a bowl to make it more potent – or to use on it’s own for a seriously out-of-this-world high. Don’t grind it: When the weed you have on hand is a little dry, you can easily break it up with your fingers a bit – or leave it kind of chunky. When you want to just burn the edge...
