How to Choose a Medical Cannabis Dispensary

How to Choose a Medical Cannabis Dispensary

With the wave of legalization taking place across America, many new cannabis businesses are popping up wherever the sale of the plant has been unrestricted. For inexperienced consumers, it can be difficult to choose a reliable dispensary — especially when so many of the available options attempt to cheat customers by lying about things like the quality and quantity of their bud. Here are a few tips to help you decide where to go the next time you Google medical dispensary near me. Reviews Typically, it’s a good idea to do some research on any dispensary you want to visit before actually making the trip. This will save you the hassle of several bad experiences and allow you to quickly identify the “best medical dispensary near me.” A simple Google search will reveal all you need to know: for example, if you live in Seattle, Washington, you should search “medical dispensary near Seattle” or “medical dispensary near me” with their location detected by Google. Browsing through the results, you will be able to find several dispensaries with copious amounts of reviews from other customers. The more positive reviews, the better. Dispensaries with few or negative reviews are probably not worth your time, especially if they’ve left customers so dissatisfied that they took the time to write a review. Sometimes dispensaries will impersonate real customers to make themselves look better in their search results, so always remember to be thorough in learning about a dispensary you’re interested in before deciding to spend your money. Cannabis Deals A new customer to a dispensary should always ask about their cannabis deals, as the...
How Does Cannabis Affect Our Health?

How Does Cannabis Affect Our Health?

Is cannabis a dangerous controlled substance or a powerful, potentially vital medication nearly perfectly suited to human physiology? The answer may be all three, depending on your perspective. If you’re a wee bit confused, join the club! Misconceptions and contradicting reports abound when it comes to cannabis and health. Nearly everyone now alive in this country grew up in an era of cannabis prohibition. Though cannabis has an astonishingly long and deep history as a medication, we’re only now beginning to unlock its potential. Recent findings have shed some light on much of the conventional “wisdom” of the last 75 years or so. Cannabis and Health: What We Know It is a bit early to issue blanket statements like “cannabis will improve your health”. Still, you’ll be surprised by what we’re learning about this incredibly complex and medically useful plant. Research shows there are some conditions for which cannabis does an equal or better job of treating than do conventional first-line treatments. This list includes some very difficult-to-diagnose conditions, notably fibromyalgia, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis (MS). What’s more, cannabis often reduces patient’s dependence on other, less safe drugs, such as opioids. In many cases, cannabis is more effective at treating the underlying symptoms, such as chronic pain. The Endocannabinoid System But beyond specific conditions, what may prove to be the single most important discovery concerning cannabis took place not in a botany lab, but inside our own bodies. In 1992, researchers uncovered the first endocannabinoid—a class of neurotransmitter vital to the body’s regulatory functions—and named it anandamide (for the Sanskrit word for “bliss,” for its role in regulating pain and...

Don’t Miss These Fall Events at the Beautiful Chateau St. Michelle

From pods of killer wales to powdery ski slopes, Washington State has always been a gem. But the state has gotten even cooler in the last ten years. So this fall we’ll be swinging by these Chateau St. Michelle events to sample their fine local food and wine: Bin on the Lake Wine Dinner (November 2) This Kirkland event features an original menu by executive Chef Frank Rog. That’s Right, Weed Weddings are Totally a Thing Now

That’s Right, Weed Weddings are Totally a Thing Now

To paraphrase Billy Idol, it’s a great time for a weed wedding. Just picture it: The tables are laden with mint petit-fours, canapes, and gorgeous bouquets in hand-thrown ceramic vases. The bride looks stunning in an off-the-shoulder gown, and the cakes are towering works of art. Content guests wander from tent to tent as the band strikes up a Louis Armstrong tune. “Cannabis weddings are now a growth industry with the attendant specialists, consultants, wedding planners, and budtenders. And traditional wedding industry professionals like caterers and photographers are cashing in on the phenomenon by advertising their services as ‘cannabis friendly.’ But this is just the first wave.” It’s a typical wedding on the classier end of the spectrum. But the discerning guest may note a few unusual details… At this wedding, the longest line is not at the conventional bar but at another tent that’s removed from the rest of the party. Yes, the cannabis bar is the place to be. Here, a licensed weed sommelier loads bongs, introduces the selection at a dab bar, and dispenses custom cannabis cookies, tarts, and brownies. Yes, this is a cannabis wedding. Not only does it have a bud bar (adults only and segregated from the rest of the party), but the flower arrangements showcase gorgeous flowers of Grape Ape and Blackberry soda. And those vases? They’re actually custom bongs. The party favors? Hand-blown canisters decorated in theme-colored ribbons and filled with pre-rolled joints. Even the ceremony features weed, with the bride and groom sharing a special pipe. Cannabis weddings are now a growth industry with the attendant specialists, consultants, wedding planners,...
