We’ll admit it: We’re kind of suckers for the bold, straightforward flavors of Mexico. Fresh and dried chilies, lime, garlic, and fresh herbs like cilantro and epazote set against the richness of simple grilled meats and chewy, flavorful handmade tortillas just make our mouths water. And while this humble, cash-only food truck may skimp on the amenities, it delivers in the best possible way: Benchmark tacos, fat torta sandwiches, and a couple of offbeat enticements like cactus-and-chorizo tacos and spicy shrimp sauteed in fistfuls of garlic and pepper.

Flo-Anna’s serves up a sweet, homey, and always spot-on take on classic American diner fare, with a touch of Greek thrown in for good measure (the first Thursday of every month is “Greek Night”). Yes, you’ll find specialties from the clay tandoor oven—buttery chicken tikka and lamb kebab—but we recommend you go a little off-road here.
