Strain Spotlight: GSC, A Potent Strain With a Euphoric Lift

By Diane

Have you ever met someone who didn’t like girl scout cookies? Probably not, right? Well, the cannabis hybrid strain GSC, formerly known as Girl Scout Cookies, boasts the same reputation. It’s one of those strains that you can’t get enough of.

GSC, sometimes called Cookies for short, has a physically stunning appearance. Yet, even more compelling, is the strain’s deliciously sweet taste, and potent ‘one-hitter-quitter’ high. Before jumping into the strain’s highlights, let’s provide a little more background first.

Like many popular hybrids, the genetic code is often clouded in mystery. Some say GSC is a cross between OG Kush, a strong Indica and Durban Poison, a pure Sativa. While others say it was bred with F1 Durb, not Durban Poison. What is rarely debated, however, is the level of admiration smokers have for this California native strain.

Characteristics and Effects of GSC

The cannabinoid profile for GSC primarily expresses THC, with levels up to 28%.

Its high THC potency helped this 60/40 Indica-dominant strain win several Cannabis Cup awards.

When smoking GSC, a rush of euphoria and positivity can enter your body while throwing you into a deep state of relaxation. A little bit goes a long way, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself glued to your seat. Although you’ll feel relaxed, the ebbs and flows of the euphoric effects can give you a minor case of the giggles during the hours-long high.

As some people like to say, GSC will gladly pick you up, and then gently lay you down. It pairs best with a night at home watching a movie or casually hanging out with friends. This hybrid also works well for those looking for a strong dose of relief, have chronic stress or pain, depression, appetite loss, or insomnia.

What Does It Look, Smell and Taste Like?

The spear-shaped, crystal-coated buds of the GSC strain is a thing of beauty. Another feature that pleases the eyes are its twisting green calyxes, large purple leaves, and fiery orange hairs.

After admiring the appearance of GSC, you’ll want to take in the smells the flower emits. You won’t have to lean in too close to the bud because the aroma is intensely strong, in a good way. There are sweet, earthy, and floral aromas that only get more fragrant when you break apart the buds.

Its high levels of terpenes are also worth mentioning. The primary terpenes present are beta-caryophyllene. With secondary and tertiary terpenes like limonene, myrcene, linalool, and humulene. They all work together to create the unique doughy taste and velvety smoothness of GSC.

If you got excited about the look and smell of GSC, chances are you’ll love the taste too.

When smoking this strain, the flavor that undeniably comes through is that of a rich and delectable dessert.

GSC is no stranger to the spotlight. As a Cannabis Cup winner and one of the most popular strains to come out of California, cannabis enthusiasts can’t wait to get their hands on these Cookies! Ready to grab yours? Find your nearest Have a Heart below!
